Tomáš Havelka specialises in intellectual property law, the law of ICT and modern technology in general, and also has experience in corporate law, acquisitions, commercial law in general, and European private international law. He received his LL.M. from the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam in Dutch intellectual property law and ICT law.

In the field of intellectual property law, Tomáš specialises in industrial property law and copyright in modern technology and digital society, and in cross-border aspects of intellectual property rights protection and enforcement and technology transfers. In the field of ICT law, he particularly specialises in network neutrality. He also focuses on issues of artificial intelligence in relation to intellectual property and virtual reality. At the same time, Tomáš specialises in patent-related issues, transactional advice in connection with patents and utility models, and has advised clients on patent litigation, the protection of their rights and the expansion of their patent portfolio abroad.

In the field of corporate law and commercial law, Tomáš has been involved in several acquisitions of Czech companies by Belgian and Dutch investors and then corporate aspects of companies in general (from establishment through transformations to liquidation and dissolution of companies).

Prior to joining our law firm in 2018, Tomáš worked for five years at a law firm specialising in advising Dutch and Belgian clients. He has experience in working at a major Dutch law firm in the field of ICT law, the Permanent Representation of the Czech Republic to the EU, and the Czech Business Representation to the EU.
