Štěpán Štarha specialises in IT and telecommunications law, intellectual and industrial property law, data protection, contractual and international private law. Štěpán primarily focuses on legal aspects of the creation and use of copyrighted works, legal aspects of information system implementation and computer program licensing, topics which he regularly lectures on.

In intellectual and industrial property law, Štěpán specialises in technology transfers, among other things, including transfers in science and research, and in trademark and industrial design protection.

Since 2010, Štěpán has participated in all major transactions involving information technologies. He has advised numerous private companies, including the largest banks, as well as public administration authorities on the implementation of key information systems. In addition, Štěpán has advised the largest software companies on the resolution of complex IT disputes.

Štěpán advises in Slovakia, where he is active as an established EU lawyer, and in the Czech Republic. Apart from being a member of the Czech and Slovak bar associations, he is also a member of the AIJA – International Association of Young Lawyers.

Besides graduating from the Faculty of Law at Masaryk University in Brno, he also graduated from the Faculty of Economics and Administration at the same university. He has obtained international experience at John Marshall Law School, Chicago.

Štěpán joined our law firm in 2009 when he was first present in Prague and Brno. Since 2018, Štěpán has been a partner of the law firm co-responsible for the management of the Bratislava office.
