Róbert specialises in IT and communications law, intellectual property, media and telecommunications, data protection, e-commerce, contract law, advertising, consumer protection, and regulation of games of chance.

In the field of information technology law, Róbert focuses primarily on the legal aspects of the creation and use of copyrighted works, the legal aspects of implementing information systems and licensing software, as well as the legal aspects of information society service providers. He is also active in lecturing on these topics.

In the field of intellectual and industrial property law, his main focus is on the law of trademarks, utility models, industrial designs, patents, geographical indications and domain names. He specialises primarily in complex IP strategy setting and IP and copyright enforcement. He also advises Slovak and foreign companies in connection with the exercise of their IP rights.

As regards personal data protection law, Róbert specialises mainly in advising in the field of setting up processes and compliance with European and Slovak regulation, issues related to privacy and personal data protection in electronic communications (e-privacy), data transfers to countries outside the EU, and personal data security regulation. He regularly advises Slovak, Czech and international companies in connection with personal data processing and setting up and adapting relevant business processes.

Róbert is involved in advising clients operating in various industries, including Internet platforms and online solutions, the banking and financial sectors, and the automotive and food industries. He also focuses on new technologies and their legal aspects.

In the field of contract law, Róbert focuses on drafting and revising commercial agreements, intellectual property rights agreements, and licensing agreements, as well as drafting business terms and franchise agreements. Prior to joining HAVEL & PARTNERS, Róbert worked at Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP in Vancouver and as a lawyer in a firm providing legal services, in particular to Swiss clients.

  • advising numerous clients in connection with setting up contractual arrangements with their partners and localisation of documentation for the purposes of supplies of goods and delivery of services in Slovakia;
