Milan Hulmák joined our law firm as Of Counsel in 2012.
He graduated from the Faculty of Law of
the University of West Bohemia in Plzeň in 1998. He completed his
post-graduate studies by defending a thesis entitled ‘Contracting
Process’. Since 1998, he has focused on teaching substantive and
procedural civil law, first at the Department of Private Law at the
Faculty of Law of the University of West Bohemia in Plzeň, and currently
at the Department of Civil and Employment Law at the Law Faculty of
Palacký University in Olomouc. He also works as a lecturer at the Czech
Judicial Academy and the Slovak Judicial Academy. For many years, he has
participated in projects for the Czech Science Foundation and the
Slovak Research and Development Agency.
Since 2000, he has been a member of the
working committees of the Czech Government’s Legislative Council for
Private Law. He was also a member of the Ministry of Justice’s
recodification committee for the preparation of a new civil code, and is
currently a member of the Ministry of Justice’s committee for the
application of new civil legislation.
Milan Hulmák is the author of
‘Contracting Process in Civil Law’, a co-author of commentaries to the
Civil Code, and the author or a co-author of many other professional
publications and articles relating to private law.
his legal practice, he is an attorney-at-law and an arbitrator for the
Arbitration Court attached to the Economic Chamber of the Czech Republic
and the Agricultural Chamber of the Czech Republic, and an arbitrator
registered with the Ministry of Justice. He has acted as an expert in
numerous arbitration proceedings.
