HAVEL & PARTNERS, the most comprehensive law firm in the Czech and Slovak law markets, is further strengthening its tax advisory group. As of the start of September 2019, the group includes specialists from TAX ADVISORY SERVICES s.r.o., with whom the firm has been cooperating for a long time. After joining HAVEL & PARTNERS, their chief tax advisor David Krch has become the 30th partner of the firm and at the same time the first partner exclusively responsible for the area of taxes. HAVEL & PARTNERS’ tax team now has 12 consultants based in Prague. David Krch will be supported at the management level by partner David Neveselý and managing associate Josef Žaloudek, who have built and managed the tax practice to date. Together they will focus mainly on further expansion in providing top tax services to private and corporate clients, tax structuring of transactions, and investment structuring.
“Tax law is one of the fastest growing areas of our services. In virtually every private or corporate transaction, investment or any business activity, clients today demand not only legal but also top-notch tax services. The growing demand for these services as part of one-stop shop advisory has led us to gradually expand our team of tax law specialists. Starting in September this year, we are entering the next phase, where the current team led by partner David Neveselý and managing associate Josef Žaloudek will be strengthened by colleagues from TAX ADVISORY SERVICES s.r.o. headed by tax advisor David Krch. As a new partner of HAVEL & PARTNERS, David will be a significant team member at the Prague office. He has many years of experience in representing foreign companies in the Czech Republic. To companies operating on the Czech market for a long time, David provides complete consultancy and service especially in the area of corporate income tax and VAT (in the domestic and international context) and also focuses on due diligence when new investors enter the Czech market. We believe that this expansion will significantly strengthen our position in the tax advisory services market,” says managing partner Jaroslav Havel.
Since this September, the tax team has a total of 12 members, mostly senior consultants with many years of experience in the Big Four companies. It will provide clients with comprehensive services in all areas of tax law and tax consulting. The firm will thus provide its clients with a unique combination of legal expertise with knowledge of domestic and international tax issues. At the same time, it will significantly strengthen expertise and capacity in the areas of:
- tax services for private clients and family businesses;
- tax structuring of transactions and investments;
- tax compliance, including preparation of tax returns;
- excise taxes and customs issues;
- representation before tax authorities;
- transfer prices;
- investment incentives;
- VAT compliance for foreign taxpayers registered in the Czech Republic;
- comprehensive tax due diligence.
